101 Advocacy
Special Education Advocate
FAQs
Why should I choose to hire an advocate?
Many parents choose to use an advocate to support them in getting what their children need in special education and/or 504. By the time you are considering the use of an advocate, you are either frustrated with current programs and/or lack of appropriate services for your child, or you have a newly diagnosed child with a disability and do not understand how to navigate through the special education system. An advocate can help in either situation.

Why should I hire 101 Advocacy as an advocate?
I can help you obtain the educational services your child needs. I have specific skills and knowledge about evaluations, various disabilities, IEPs, 504 plans, behavioral supports and discipline, and the IEP/ARD process. I understand IDEA and other laws/regulations affecting the education of students with disabilities. I am passionate about ensuring that students with disabilities get the services they need.

What area do you service?
Phone conferencing during a IEP/ARD is available when 101 Advocacy physical presence is not possible. Generally, I serve the greater San Antonio.

What do you charge?

Generally, within a 20 mile radius from my office, I charge $60.00 an hour. Outside the 20 mile radius, a charge of $.30 a mile for travel expenses is in addition to the hourly charge. Travel time is not charged with the hourly rate. The hourly rate begins when consultation and/or representation begins. IEP/ARD phone conference charge is also $60 an hour.

Do you offer financial assistance?
I feel that families should not be without advocacy support simply for not having the financial means to secure an advocate. Please contact me to work out a sliding scale payment option.
